The development of the project from the CMA CGM group
To begin with, the CMA CGM has decided that it will plant 7.000 trees of local native species in southeastern Brazil. Creating a partnership with ANordesta Reforestation and Education Association, a project dedicated to the conservation of tropical forests and the improvement of the quality of life of the rural population was developed. The focus of the project is to regenerate forest ecosystems in the state of Minas Gerais, in principle. This global reforestation initiative undoubtedly drives the balance of environmental, social and economic benefits.
Benefits
Besides Brazil, 11 other countries will feel the benefits of this project, such as: Canada, United States, Peru, France, Romania, Morocco, India, China, Philippines, Indonesia and New Zealand. Among the benefits are: minimizing the impacts of deforestation, planting trees to promote the regeneration of essential soils and ecosystems, bravely helping to preserve biodiversity.
Some CMA CGM team members will have the opportunity to participate in plantings in some of the countries. The task force will be carried out together with PUR PROJET, a partner of the Group.
Installed in Brazil since 2003, the CMA CGM Group generates jobs for more than 660 employees, in addition to connecting the country to the world through 11 types of services provided per week.
