The Importance of Teaching Libras in Inclusive Education
Brazilian Sign Language is essential for the communication and learning of deaf students.
In Brazil, Law No. 10.436/2002 recognizes Libras as a legal means of communication and expression for the deaf community.
However, there is still a major challenge in ensuring that teachers are adequately trained to provide quality education.
By offering this specialization, UFPE contributes to meeting this demand, preparing educators to act more effectively in the context of inclusive education.
Having specialized teachers makes a difference in the autonomy and development of deaf students, allowing them to receive quality education and have equal opportunities in the job market.
