The XLE Starts Selling This Week in Brazil and Features Various Improvements
Toyota Brazil announces the return of its large sedan, the Camry, to Brazil. From now on, the model, which has been synonymous with luxury and build quality, will also exemplify energy efficiency, as it will be sold in the country only in a hybrid version for the first time. With this novelty, the manufacturer expands its lineup of electrified vehicles, which already includes the hybrid flex Corolla and Corolla Cross, as well as the hybrid RAV4. The vehicle begins selling this week at all brand dealerships in Brazil in a year that has seen the announcement of an ambitious plan to produce 2 million electric cars.
Available in a single configuration, XLE, the sedan combines comfort and sophistication with a pleasurable and efficient driving experience, thanks to the 2.5L DOHC four-cylinder engine, which, alongside three electric motors, results in a combined maximum power of 211 hp, and boasts a refined interior finish and a robust package of convenience technologies at the ready.
Comfort and Interior Finish
To ensure even more sophistication and comfort, the new hybrid comes equipped with leather-trimmed seats with details in synthetic premium material. The steering wheel and gearshift lever also received applications of the material, with silver details, also used in the door handles.

Enhanced Safety
The 2023 lineup of Toyota’s luxury sedan, already known for its quality, durability, and reliability, has received safety enhancements, mainly in TSS, the Toyota Safety Sense – the brand’s active safety package.
From now on, the Camry offers features such as Lane Departure Alert with steering assist (LDA), the Pre-Collision System (PCS), which has received improvements in detecting pedestrians at night and cyclists approaching, even in curves. Additionally, the Emergency Steering Assistance (ESA) function has been added, which helps the driver execute maneuvers and avoid obstacles, maintaining the vehicle’s stability and reducing the risk of accidents.
The Camry’s TSS also includes Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with audible and visual alerts, Automatic High Beams (AHB), as well as vehicle detection and automatic emergency braking included in the PCS. It’s important to note that these systems are designed to assist the driver in adverse situations and not to replace them.
The list of safety features of the Camry does not stop there, also including nine airbags: two front, two side for the driver and front passenger, two curtain, two side for the rear seat, and one knee airbag for the driver. Also included are Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Hill Start Assist (HAC), ABS with EBD, Emergency Brake Assistance (BAS), Emergency Brake Lights (EBS), Blind Spot Monitor (BSM), and two Isofix anchor points, with two top tether anchor points.
Like other models from the Japanese brand, three-point seat belts for all seats are standard, with pre-tensioners and force limiters for the driver and front passenger.

Performance and Fuel Economy
To provide an experience that combines energy efficiency, like the hybrid flex Corolla sedan, low emissions, and performance, the model comes equipped with a 2.5L DOHC four-cylinder 16V VVT-iE combustion engine producing 178 hp at 5,700 rpm and torque of 22.5 kgfm at 3,600 rpm, plus three electric motors that deliver a combined 120 hp and 20.6 kgfm of torque. Together, the engines result in a maximum power of 211 hp.
The vehicle features an automatic eCVT transmission, ensuring smoother shifts and a more direct acceleration feel while allowing for greater steering control without wasting energy, achieving low fuel consumption.
The driver has four driving modes available: Normal, Eco, EV (100% electric), and Sport, which adapt to the driver’s style and, mainly, the type of terrain, delivering more or less power while prioritizing efficiency and a more sustainable ride.
With front-wheel drive, the Camry is equipped with MacPherson suspension, featuring stabilizer bars in the front and independent suspension with stabilizer bars in the rear, providing greater firmness at the wheel and an enhanced sporty feel.
Enhanced Design
The new Camry also received updates to its front design, ensuring a more modern, sophisticated look with a sporty touch.
Upon its return to the national market, it received novelties in its front design, with the extension of the vehicle’s central area, stretching from the hood to the bumper and connecting to the fender edge, giving it a lower, wider, and bolder appearance. Additionally, it features chrome details on the bumper sides that enhance its look and the impression of sophistication and modernity.
Another update includes 18-inch alloy wheels that arrive with a sportier style reflecting its dynamism.
