More Than Just Selling Cars, Toyota Offers Safety and Commitment: See the Data That Proves Its Leadership Among Consumers.

Amidst so many options in the Brazilian automotive market, one brand seems to hold a special place in the heart — and garage — of the consumer: Toyota. Much more than just selling cars, the Japanese automaker has built a reputation for reliability, durability, and respect for customers that places it, year after year, at the top of trust rankings in Brazil. But after all, what makes Toyota such a respected brand in the country?

The Reputation Built Day by Day

Toyota consistently leads customer satisfaction and after-sales surveys conducted by entities like J.D. Power and Reclame Aqui, in addition to maintaining high scores in rankings of the most trustworthy brands according to Datafolha, Ibope, and Ipsos. In the study “Dream Cars 2024”, promoted by Mobiauto, Toyota appeared among the favorites in almost all categories, especially for the Corolla and Hilux — two names that symbolize what the brand represents: cars that last, consume little, and don’t cause headaches.

Moreover, the Automotive Experience Satisfaction Index (ISEA), developed by the Quatro Rodas portal, placed Toyota in first place for overall satisfaction in 2023, surpassing brands like Honda, Volkswagen, and Chevrolet. This reinforces an important point: trust goes far beyond price or technical specifications.

Toyota Corolla was the midsize sedan that depreciated the least in the first year of use in 2023, maintaining up to 90% of its original value.

Efficient and Reliable After-Sales Service

One of the main pillars of trust in Toyota lies in its after-sales service. Those who have owned a Corolla or Hilux know: the service from the authorized network tends to be more agile, direct, and honest than in much of the competition. The return rates to the dealership for scheduled maintenance are the highest in the industry and, according to Reclame Aqui, Toyota has one of the lowest complaint rates for recurring defects among all automakers operating in the country.

Another differentiator is the transparency in maintenance costs. The brand openly discloses the prices for maintenance up to 100,000 km, and the values are quite competitive, even when compared to entry-level models from competing brands.

Real Durability, Not Just Promise

You may have heard someone say: “If you want a car for a lifetime, buy a Toyota.” This idea is not just marketing: models like the Corolla, Etios, and Hilux are references in durability. In automotive forums and social media owner groups, it’s common to find reports of cars with 300,000, 400,000, or even 500,000 kilometers driven still in perfect working condition.

This durability makes Toyota one of the brands with the highest appreciation in the used car market. According to the study by Kelley Blue Book Brasil, the Toyota Corolla was the midsize sedan that depreciated the least in the first year of use in 2023, maintaining up to 90% of its original value.

Toyota appeared among the favorites in practically all categories, especially for the Corolla and Hilux — two names that symbolize what the brand represents: cars that last, consume little, and don’t cause headaches.

Innovation with Responsibility

Although it is not the most aggressive brand in launches or bold designs, Toyota tends to take a more cautious and reliable approach to technology. The hybrid line of the Corolla, for example, is not only the best-selling in the category but was the first in the country to combine a flex engine with electric propulsion, a combination developed especially for Brazil.

This careful innovation conveys a clear message: Toyota does not release anything without ensuring that it will work well for many years. This reassures Brazilian buyers, who increasingly seek fuel economy, low emissions, and, of course, confidence that the car won’t break down.

Commitment to Brazil

With a factory in Sorocaba (SP) and another in Indaiatuba (SP), as well as a research and development center in São Bernardo do Campo, Toyota maintains continuous investments in Brazil. Recently, the automaker announced a new investment of R$ 11 billion by 2030, reinforcing its commitment to the national market and expected to ensure new models, expansion of the dealership network, and job creation.

“We want Brazilian consumers to continue to trust Toyota not only for the products but for the set of values we deliver: respect, durability, and sustainability,” said Rafael Chang, president of Toyota Brazil, in an interview with Autoesporte.

A Brand That Inspires Safety

At the end of the day, trust in Toyota goes beyond performance. It is a mix of tradition, good service, honesty, and long-term commitment. For Brazilian consumers, this sense of security is worth as much as power or modern design.

And in times when trust has become a scarce commodity, perhaps this is the greatest asset a brand can have.
