The company Transocean is celebrating the end of the year with several contracts closed for the coming years

Offshore drilling company Transocean has won several new contracts for its semi-submersible and drill rigs, which will operate in Canada, the UK, China, Mexico, Norway and Malaysia. In its latest fleet status report issued on Monday, October 22nd, Transocean reported that the Henry Goodrich semi-submersible drilling rig has received a further one-year contract extension with Husky offshore eastern Canada. The contract has a day rate of $275.000 and is due to end in November 2019.

The Paul B. Loyd Jr. semi-submersible platform. has been awarded a two-well contract by BP, due to start in March 2019, plus four well options in the UK North Sea. The contract for which the day has not been disclosed, starts in March and ends in August 2019. The platform is currently working on Finlaggan development wells in the UK North Sea for Zennor Petroleum. This agreement expires in December 2018.

Transocean's Dhirubhai Deepwater KG2 drillship has won a three-well contract with CNOOC in China, which is expected to start in February 2019 and end in June 2019. The contract also includes two more well options. The drillship is in an idle state as of October. The Transocean Leader semi-submersible drilling rig has been awarded a three-well contract in the UK North Sea by Hurricane Energy.

The contract begins in February and ends in July 2019. The rig is currently under contract with EnQuest until December 2018. The Deepwater Asgard rig has been awarded a one-well contract by an unnamed operator for offshore operations in Mexico. This transaction begins in March 2019, upon completion of the rig's current contract with Murphy Oil in the Gulf of Mexico. The contract is scheduled to end in May 2019. In Norway, Equinor has contracted a semi-submersible platform Transocean Spitsbergen. The daily rate for the platform between January and March 2019 will be $236.000 and from May to July 2019 will be $276.000.
