Cleaner Energy For Roraima With The New Thermoelectric Plant The Size Of 15 Soccer Fields, According To Techint Engineering

In Boa Vista, Roraima (RR), the construction of the Jaguatirica II Thermoelectric Plant, carried out by Techint Engineering, is in full swing. When completed, the thermoelectric plant will provide cleaner and cheaper energy for Roraima, as it will allow the shutdown of diesel generation capacity, reducing generation costs and emissions of pollutant gases.

With the capacity to generate 126 MW of power for the state of Roraima, the thermoelectric plant is being built on an area equivalent to 15 soccer fields. The Jaguatirica II UTE of Eneva will be the main source of energy generation for the state.

Thermoelectric Plant In Roraima Was One Of The Winners Of The Auction By Aneel

The integrated Azulão-Jaguatirica II project was one of the winners of the energy auction for supplying Boa Vista (RR) and connected localities, held in 2019 by the National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL).

With an investment of R$ 1.9 billion, the expectation for the thermoelectric plant in Roraima is to reduce CO2 emissions by 35% in the state, which represents 180,000 tons/year less CO2 released into the atmosphere. A reduction in the cost of generation for Roraima’s Isolated System is also expected, the only state outside the country’s integrated electric system.

Techint Engineering Makes Various Investments In The Brazilian Renewable Market

The company behind the entire construction of the Azulão-Jaguatirica II thermoelectric plant is Techint Engineering, which has made 170 job openings available for hiring technicians to work on the construction and assembly of the UTE, in the Bom Intento area, in the rural zone of Boa Vista.

For 70 years, Techint Engineering and Construction has been building Brazil’s most challenging projects, offering engineering services, construction, equipment supply, as well as operation and management services for large-scale projects worldwide.
