The Company Will Invest R$ 700 Million in the Implementation of the Plant in Roraima, Which Already Operates in Natural Gas Production in the States of Ceará and Maranhão
On the morning of this Thursday, 05, Eneva obtained from the State Foundation for the Environment and Water Resources (Femarh) of Roraima the Installation License for the construction of the Natural Gas Thermoelectric Plant Jaguatirica II, in Roraima, which will have an installed capacity of 132.3 MW. On June 4, the contract signed by Techint with Eneva for the execution of the thermoelectric project in Roraima, where more than 1,500 jobs will be generated for its implementation phase.
The plant was one of the nine winning companies of the isolated system auction held on May 31 by the Electric Energy Trading Chamber (CCEE) and accounted for 44% of the traded volume.

During the ceremony, the director of the private natural gas operator, Pedro Zinner, said that this is a step forward for the state, which from now on, will have the possibility of relying on other sources of electric energy, less polluting and with a lower cost.
The energy supplied by the company will come from the production of natural gas, a mixture of fossil fuel derivatives.
The company will invest R$ 700 million in the implementation of the plant, which, in fact, already operates in natural gas production in the states of Ceará and Maranhão.
The Electric Energy and Power Marketing Contract in Isolated Systems (CCESI) has a duration of 15 years, and the energy delivery is scheduled to start on June 28, 2021.
For the construction of the UTE, the company signed a global contracting agreement, in the full EPC modality, with a company from the Italian-Argentine group Techint.
Eneva delivered notification for the start of implementation to the company in June 2019. The construction period stipulated in the EPC contract for the plant is up to 24 months from the date of the document.
When completed, the thermoelectric plant will need about 22 trucks of natural gas per day if called to generate its maximum capacity. These vehicles will travel approximately 1,000 kilometers to connect the Azulão field, which Eneva acquired from Petrobras, to the thermal plant in Roraima, which will have a tanking capacity corresponding to seven days of operation.
The plant is fully flexible and the CVU is around R$ 220/MWh, according to information from Eneva provided to a special report by Agência CanalEnergia published on June 28.
“When completed, it will be one of the first plants to be dispatched by merit order in the Northern region when the state is connected to the SIN,” said at the time the senior analyst of Regulation and Government Affairs at Eneva, Lucas Ribeiro.
