How to Increase Your Hiring Chances and Take Advantage of Temporary Jobs

One of the main tips from experts is to customize your resume. Tailoring it to the job and the desired company can make all the difference.
An experienced recruiter takes an average of eight seconds to analyze a resume. Therefore, candidates need to briefly highlight all their strengths, regardless of the type of selection process they are participating in, whether in-person or virtual.
For those without prior experience, alternatives exist. It is possible to include activities such as volunteer work or other elements that add value to the professional profile, while clearly highlighting skills and career objectives. The idea is to show that, even without a professional background, the candidate has something to offer.
Interview Preparation

The interview, whether in-person or virtual, is a crucial step in the process. It is very important to present oneself appropriately, using clothes suited to the company for which you are applying for the job, always with neat hair, well-groomed facial hair, and light, suitable makeup.
In virtual interviews, attention to the environment is also essential. A quiet, noise-free, and well-lit location helps create a professional atmosphere. Candidates should notify household members about the interview and, if possible, use the background blur feature.
Additionally, testing the equipment, such as the microphone and camera, before the interview can prevent problems.
Understanding Temporary Work
Working through temporary positions is a form of hiring regulated by specific norms, being common during periods of seasonal demand, such as occurs at the end of the year.
This type of contract offers temporary workers almost the same rights as employees hired for an indefinite period, but there are some important differences.
The company hiring temporary workers must ensure safety, hygiene, and health conditions, in addition to providing temporary workers with the same medical and outpatient services it provides to its permanent employees. In other words, temporary workers cannot be treated less favorably than the company’s permanent employees.
Rights of Temporary Workers
Temporary workers have a series of rights that must be respected, including the notation of temporary status in the Work and Social Security Card (CTPS). Other important rights include:
- Equal pay to employees of the same category at the contracting company;
- Work schedule of up to 44 hours per week, with an additional 50% for overtime;
- Night shift premiums;
- Weekly paid rest;
- Proportional 13th salary for the time worked;
- Proportional vacation;
- Accident insurance.
If any of these rights are not fulfilled, the temporary work relationship can be converted into a hiring for an indefinite period, which guarantees the worker the same protections and labor rights as other employees of the company.
In summary, temporary work offers a real opportunity for those looking to enter or return to the job market.
However, it is essential for candidates to pay attention to all stages of the process, from preparing the resume to the interview, to maximize their chances of success in a competitive environment.
