Ecowinde and Joint Venture Build 760 MW Offshore Wind Farm with Innovations, Turbines, Foundations, and Ecological Protection.

Ecowende, a partnership between Shell and Eneco, announced that the company Van Oord has been selected for the construction of the 760 MW Hollandse Kust (West), lot 6 offshore wind farm. Van Oord will be responsible for transporting and installing the foundations, as well as placing, connecting, and burying the cables between the turbines. Additionally, the company will be in charge of transporting and installing the turbines, located 53 km off the Dutch coast. The partnership between Ecowende and Van Oord will aim to implement various innovations and ecological measures to make the wind farm the most eco-friendly of all time.

Furthermore, the construction company Van Oord will deploy a new offshore installation vessel, the Boreas, for the transportation and installation of foundations and structures. To minimize the construction noise of the wind farm, a vibratory hammer will be used, an innovative technique that will be implemented on a large scale for the first time in a Dutch offshore farm. The Nexus vessel of Van Oord will be utilized to install the connection cables between the turbines, and the company will also employ ecological protection techniques against abrasion to preserve the marine environment.
