The Norwegian Shipbuilder Vard Signed a Contract for the Construction of a Cable Installation Vessel for an Undisclosed Client.
The Norwegian vessel manufacturer Vard has finalized a deal to build a ship for cable installation for an undisclosed client on Friday. The contract value is estimated between 200 and 250 million euros.
The vessel, designed by the Norwegian company Salt Ship Design AS, will have its hull built in Vard Tulcea, Romania, and will be outfitted and delivered at one of Vard’s shipyards in Norway in the fourth quarter of 2026. European shipbuilding is in full swing to meet the growing demand for vessels for offshore energy.
