Workers born in September who opted for the birthday withdrawal can withdraw part of the FGTS until November 30, 2026. The amount depends on the total balance available: accounts above R$ 20,000 allow for a withdrawal of 5% plus R$ 2,900, while lower ranges combine higher percentages with specific fixed additional amounts.

The workers who celebrate their birthday in September and chose the birthday withdrawal option for FGTS can now withdraw the annual share provided by this option. For those celebrating this month in 2026, the period started on September 1 and ends on November 30.

According to ND Mais, the amount available is not the same for all workers. The calculation takes into account the total balance existing in active and inactive accounts of the FGTS (Severance Indemnity Fund) and applies different percentage rates along with fixed additional amounts in certain tiers.

Birthday Withdrawal Allows Annual Withdrawal of Part of FGTS

Workers born in September and enrolled in the birthday withdrawal can take part of their FGTS until November 30; for balances above R$ 20,000, the calculation is 5% plus R$ 2,900.
Workers born in September and enrolled in the birthday withdrawal can take part of their FGTS until November 30; for balances above R$ 20,000, the calculation is 5% plus R$ 2,900.

This option allows workers to withdraw a portion of the available FGTS balance once a year, during the period related to their birthday month.

Participation is optional. Those who do not choose the birthday withdrawal remain in the traditional model known as termination withdrawal.

September Birthday Workers Must Have Opted for the Option

Simply being born in September does not guarantee access to the funds.

To make a withdrawal during this period, the worker must have been born in September, opted for the birthday withdrawal, and have available balance in an active or inactive FGTS account.

Funds Available for Up to Three Months

Workers born in September and enrolled in the birthday withdrawal can take part of their FGTS until November 30; for balances above R$ 20,000, the calculation is 5% plus R$ 2,900.
Workers born in September and enrolled in the birthday withdrawal can take part of their FGTS until November 30; for balances above R$ 20,000, the calculation is 5% plus R$ 2,900.

The amount is released starting from the first business day of the birthday month.

Withdrawals remain available for up to three months, according to the schedule of the option.

For those born in September 2026, the withdrawal period is from September 1 to November 30.

Higher Balance Reduces the Percentage Available for Withdrawal

The calculation uses progressive brackets.

The higher the accumulated balance in the FGTS accounts, the lower the percentage applied to the total, although some brackets include a fixed additional amount.

This combination determines how much each worker can effectively withdraw.

Up to R$ 500 Allows a 50% Withdrawal Without Additional Amount

In the first bracket, workers with up to R$ 500 accumulated can withdraw 50% of the balance.

In this case, there is no fixed additional amount.

Between R$ 500.01 and R$ 1,000, Calculation Uses 40% Plus R$ 50

For balances between R$ 500.01 and R$ 1,000, the withdrawal corresponds to 40% of the total available plus R$ 50 as an additional amount.

The formula reduces the percentage compared to the previous bracket, but adds a fixed value.

From R$ 1,000.01 to R$ 5,000, Percentage Drops to 30%

Those with between R$ 1,000.01 and R$ 5,000 can withdraw 30% of the balance plus R$ 150.

The calculation continues to follow the logic of reducing the percentage as the accumulated amount increases.

Balance Between R$ 5,000.01 and R$ 10,000 Uses 20% Plus R$ 650

In the next bracket, workers with a balance between R$ 5,000.01 and R$ 10,000 can withdraw 20% of the total plus an additional amount of R$ 650.

The final amount depends directly on the existing balance in the FGTS accounts.

Between R$ 10,000.01 and R$ 15,000, Withdrawal is 15% Plus R$ 1,150

For balances between R$ 10,000.01 and R$ 15,000, the applicable rate drops to 15%.

A fixed amount of R$ 1,150 is added to this result.

From R$ 15,000.01 to R$ 20,000, Calculation Uses 10% Plus R$ 1,900

Workers with between R$ 15,000.01 and R$ 20,000 can withdraw 10% of the balance, plus a fixed amount of R$ 1,900.

The next bracket again reduces the percentage applied.

Above R$ 20,000, Withdrawal is 5% Plus R$ 2,900

For those with more than R$ 20,000 in FGTS accounts, the rule allows a withdrawal of 5% of the total balance plus R$ 2,900 as a fixed additional amount.

Thus, the amount of R$ 2,900 does not represent the total ceiling for the withdrawal. It is added to the 5% calculated based on the available balance.

2026 Calendar Follows the Month of Birth

The birthday withdrawal has different periods for each group of workers.

In January, the period was from January 2 to March 31. For February, from February 2 to April 30. Those born in March had a period from March 3 to May 29.

April, May, and June Also Had Three Months for Withdrawal

Those born in April could withdraw from April 1 to June 30.

For May, the period was from May 4 to July 31. In June, withdrawals occurred from June 1 to August 31.

July and August Still Have Their Own Deadlines on the Calendar

Those born in July can withdraw between July 1 and September 30, 2026.

For August birthdays, the timeframe runs from August 3 to October 30.

September Withdrawals Can Be Made Until November 30

Workers born in September have a deadline from September 1 to November 30, 2026.

This is the group whose withdrawal window started this month.

October Withdrawals Will Be Allowed Until December 30

For those born in October, the scheduled period is from October 1 to December 30, 2026.

The release also follows the same calculation rules based on account balances.

November Withdrawals Can Be Made Until January 2027

Those born in November will have a window from November 2, 2026, to January 29, 2027.

The calendar extends beyond the year-end, maintaining a withdrawal window of approximately three months.

December Withdrawals Will Be Allowed Until February 26, 2027

Those with birthdays in December can withdraw between December 1, 2026, and February 26, 2027.

This way, the annual withdrawal calendar extends into the first quarter of the following year.

FGTS App Allows Balance and Available Amounts Check

Workers can check their amounts through the official FGTS channels.

The inquiry can also be made in the FGTS app, which displays the available balance, information about the birthday withdrawal, and the option to request enrollment in this mode.

September Deadline Ends on November 30

Workers born in September who have already enrolled in the birthday withdrawal have until November 30, 2026 to utilize the withdrawal window for this year.

The amount varies based on the balance: part of 50% without an additional amount for accounts up to R$ 500, and for balances over R$ 20,000, it totals 5% plus R$ 2,900.

In your opinion, is the birthday withdrawal a beneficial option for accessing part of the FGTS every year, or do you prefer to keep your balance in the traditional withdrawal model? Leave your thoughts in the comments.
