Xiaomi Announced Its New Electric Scooter That May Hit The Market For R$ 1,600. The Chinese Scooter Promises Speeds Of Up To 20 Km/h With 18 Km Of Range.
Xiaomi has established itself in the smartphone industry in recent years, and now, it has also gained ground in the electric mobility niche. The latest novelty from the Asian giant for this sector is the Electric Scooter 4 Go, an electric scooter for getting around the city without spending much.
Xiaomi Scooter Reaches Speeds Of Up To 20 Km/h
The Xiaomi 4 Go is powered by an electric motor mounted in the front hub with a nominal power of 250 watts. The peak power is 450 W, allowing the electric scooter to reach speeds of up to 20 km/h. Like the premium models from Xiaomi, the 4 Pro, 4 Ultra, and 4 Lite, the rider can switch between three driving modes: pedestrian, sporty, and standard.
As for the battery, the manufacturer opted for a more modest component of 165 watt-hours, which not only makes it cheaper but also keeps the vehicle lighter. Although the battery of the Xiaomi scooter is smaller, the estimated range provided by Xiaomi is approximately 18 km per charge.

While much of the industry rushes to automate production, Rolls-Royce takes over 600 hours to hand-build each car in Goodwood and still accepts orders so complex that they can take up to four years to be completed.

Smaller than the Model Y, lighter, with a single motor and designed to cost less than the current Model 3, Tesla’s new compact electric SUV is born in China and could seal the automaker’s return to the race for mass-market electric vehicles.

Kawasaki took the technology from its most brutal racing bikes, squeezed it into a 400cc 4-cylinder engine that revs to 15,000 RPM, and created the ZX-4R, a machine that shouldn’t exist in this displacement but is making experienced riders rethink everything they thought they knew about mid-range motorcycles.

The culture of cars that jump on the asphalt was born in the garages of Mexicans in the 1940s, was treated as a crime in the United States for decades, and has now become an official postage stamp of the American Postal Service in a twist that no one expected.
By comparison, the top-end model, the Xiaomi 4s, has about 20 km of range. This good mark is achieved due to its light weight of just 13.7 kg. The Xiaomi 4 Go, while being a simpler version of its more expensive siblings, still offers technologies like Bluetooth and compatibility with the Mi Home app.
The lightest and most affordable model in the brand’s scooter line will soon arrive in Europe. The price of the Xiaomi scooter may vary in other markets. In the Old Continent, the scooter will be sold with a suggested price of 299 euros, about R$ 1570 at the current exchange rate.
Difficulties In Adopting Electric Scooters In Big Cities
For now, there are no plans to launch the Xiaomi electric scooter in Brazil. The only electric scooter officially sold in the country by the company is the Essential, which sells for R$ 5,000 with a discount for full payment.
It is important to emphasize that this type of vehicle has taken over the sidewalks of major capitals around the world. Whether for the convenience of transportation or pure entertainment, this means of travel sharing remains common, even as it is no longer a novelty in most cities.
Despite the perception of this mode of transportation being well regarded in various places, such as the 158 cities in the U.S. that have adopted e-scooters as a ride-sharing system, other regions have imposed restrictions on this mode of transport. Still in the U.S., the cities of New Orleans and Las Vegas have implemented strict measures against the sharing of electric scooters.
Cutting-Edge Models Enter The Electric Scooter Market
In addition to Xiaomi, ZonDoo, well-known in the market for producing electric scooters, recently launched its RoadHitter model, the fastest in its catalog and, basically, one of the fastest sold in the market.
The electric scooter can reach speeds of nearly 110 km/h and certainly looks radical, prioritizing maximum adrenaline. The model features 3 driving modes that the rider can switch between, with the standout modes being dual motor and eco, accessible via a button near the right thumb.
Another point worth noting is the excellent range of the ZonDoo electric scooter, which can go from 110 km to 130 km on a single charge. This should be sufficient for several trips before needing to be left on the charger for 6 to 8 hours. The battery-powered vehicle has two 4,000 W motors and, while ZonDoo indicates that the vehicle can reach 110 km/h, in the real world, that can be somewhat unstable.
