Abandoned House Since 1996 Due to an Aircraft Accident Begins to Be Demolished, According to the Channel Gardener Life
The channel “Gardener Life” showed a house that remained abandoned for 25 years will soon have a new purpose after decades of being forgotten.
The property was taken over by dense vegetation and gained the appearance of a post-apocalyptic setting, compared by the gardeners themselves to Chernobyl, due to the way nature completely engulfed the construction.
The abandonment began after a tragedy in 1996, when the then-owner lost his life in an aircraft accident that became part of Brazil’s history.

Since then, the residence was frozen in time — until it was recently acquired by a new buyer determined to demolish the old structure and build anew.
Tragedy Interrupted Lives and Changed the Fate of the House
According to the channel “Gardener Life”, the abandonment is directly linked to one of the most significant accidents in Brazilian aviation. In 1996, a Fokker 100 aircraft crashed near Congonhas Airport, killing dozens of people.
Among the victims was the owner of the residence, a fact that initiated a long process of probate and legal disputes involving the heirs.
These legal battles dragged on for years, preventing any use or maintenance of the property. As a result, the place underwent a process of total deterioration, becoming a silent symbol of the tragedy that interrupted lives and left deep marks on those who witnessed it.
Nature Took Over and Transformed the Property into an Urban Jungle
Over more than two decades, the house was completely dominated by vegetation. Trees and weeds grew uncontrollably, taking over walls, roofs, and sidewalks.
The pool, which remained stagnant with water all this time, became a breeding ground for bacteria, posing accident risks for anyone who approached.
The team from “Gardener Life” reported that they worked with extra caution during the cleaning, fearing trips or falls into the contaminated pool. The extreme situation reflected the prolonged abandonment and total lack of maintenance since the accident.
New Owner Begins Transformation
The change began when a new buyer acquired the property and hired the professional service of the channel “Gardener Life” team to perform the cleaning and revitalization of the space. This time, unlike other voluntary actions taken by the group, the work was done for a fee, with the goal of preparing the ground for a new project.
The owner decided to completely demolish the old residence, as the structural condition was compromised by leaks, cracks, and irreversible damage caused by time. According to the channel, rebuilding from scratch is more financially viable than attempting to renovate the old house.
From Abandonment to a Fresh Start
After the initial cleaning work, what once looked like an abandoned scene gained a new appearance. The transformation brought a sense of tranquility and renewal to the space.
However, the lack of electricity and water at the site prevented a complete cleaning, such as washing the sidewalks.
