The Scholarships Offered by iFood Are Part of the Potência Tech Program, Aiming to Promote Education in Technology

The iFood is offering, on the Potência Tech platform, 200 scholarships focused on technology for delivery partners linked to the company and Black and trans women. The project aims to encourage education in technology while also promoting social inclusion in the job market, by ensuring education and employability for low-income individuals or underrepresented groups in society.

Of the 200 scholarships available, 120 are exclusively designated for Black and trans women. This initiative is part of the Todas em Tech program, created in partnership with {reprograma}, a social impact project, and BID Lab (Inter-American Development Bank Innovation Lab).

The remaining 80 scholarships will fill an exclusive class for delivery partners associated with iFood, which is part of a partnership with Cubos Academy and consists of an unprecedented action by the company.

In this regard, Luanna Luna, iFood’s education manager, states that the company has been investing in the training of individuals belonging to underrepresented groups in society, such as Black women and low-income individuals.

She adds that, for the first time, Potência Tech is opening an exclusive class for delivery partners in the technology field, in order to expand the supply of qualified professionals, as well as promote diversity in the technological universe and enable its partners to access other paths if they wish.

About the Slots for Women

The slots for the scholarships corresponding to women pertain to online courses in back-end and front-end programming.

The previously mentioned Todas em Tech project is sponsored by iFood, Accenture, Creditas, Meta, and Nubank, focusing on cisgender and transgender women over 18 years old and in a condition of social, economic, and gender vulnerability.

In this sense, the initiative will allocate at least 55% of the slots for Black women and 5% for transgender women and transvestites, aiming to reverse the low representation of these groups in the market.

Interested individuals must complete their registration by June 27.

About the Slots for Delivery Partners

The 80 scholarships offered by iFood for delivery partners will be related to back-end training, with the aim of valuing and encouraging the development of this group of workers.

Applicants for the scholarship must be over 18 years old, have completed high school, be registered as an active delivery partner of iFood for at least three months, and not have previously received scholarships from the company for training in technology.

Registrations must be completed by July 17, and classes will be remote, consisting of theoretical and practical training.

Regarding this topic, José Messias Junior, CEO of Cubos Academy, stated that the company’s specialty and goal are to transform lives through education. According to him, it is a pleasure for the company to train these new professionals and carry out this training with iFood, which has great transformational potential, given that the technology market shows an annual average growth of over 180%.

How to Apply for the Scholarships?

As for the scholarships in the Potência Tech program aimed at women, applications must be submitted through the official website of the initiative by June 27.

Delivery partners, on the other hand, need to access a different portal to apply for the scholarships available. Registrations will be open until July 17.
