Ford Continues Its Movement Toward Electrification, Even with Changes in Deadlines and Production Plans in Europe
Ford is moving forward with its plan to retire the gasoline-powered Ford Focus, despite the delay of its transition target for a fully electric fleet in Europe, now scheduled for 2035 instead of 2030 as initially planned, according to the website Electrek.
Production of the current gasoline-powered Ford Focus is set to end next year, as previously announced by the company. Ford does not intend to extend the production of the Focus, even if there is an extension of the deadline set by the European Union for the elimination of greenhouse gas emissions.
Ford Restructuring Plan in Europe
Kieran Cahill, Vice President of Production for Ford Europe, stated: “We have made our plans, and there is no possibility of extending Focus production”. The Ford plant in Saarlouis, Germany, where the Focus is produced, will continue operating after the end of production of the model, scheduled for November 2025. About 1,000 of the current 4,500 employees will remain at the plant, while the others will be relocated to other Ford locations. The plant is expected to remain operational at least until the end of 2032.

Concordo. Sempre fui fã da linha ford e tve todas as versões do focus. Fiquei decepcionado com o gesto da empresa a seus clientes. Também desisti de comprar qualquer outro carro dessa montadora.
Tenho New fiesta, acho um carro excelente, leve economico e confortável. Mais apartir do momento que vender o meu não compro mais carro da Ford. Foi desrespeito dessa empresa com seus clientes no Brasil.
