With a Regasification Capacity of 21 Million, the Unit Will Arrive in Brazil in 2021 to Supply the GNA Açu I and II Thermoelectric Plants at the Port of Açu
The GNA AÇÚ at the Port of Açu has reached another major milestone! Today, January 31, the FSRU – Floating Storage Regasification Unit, which will supply the thermoelectric plants of the project, was formally named BW MAGNA. The naming ceremony took place in South Korea, where the vessel was built, and was attended by representatives of GNA’s board, partners, and other strategic stakeholders.
The FSRU will arrive in Brazil in 2020 and, when installed at the Port of Açu, will be capable of regasifying 21 million cubic meters of natural gas per day.
Did You Know: The name chosen for the vessel, MAGNA, comes from Latin and means “Great,” just like our project, which will add 3 GW of secure energy to the country!
