With the capacity to regase 21 million, the unit will arrive in Brazil in 2021 to supply the GNA Açu I and II thermoelectric plants in Porto do Açú

GNA AÇÚ, in Porto do Açú, Reached another great milestone! Today, 31/1, the FSRU – Floating Regasification Unit, which will supply the undertaking's thermoelectric plants, was formally baptized as BW MAGNA. The baptism ceremony took place in South Korea, where the vessel was built, and was attended by representatives of the GNA board, partners and other strategic partners.

The FRSU will arrive in Brazil in 2020 and, when installed in Porto do Açu, will be capable of regasifying 21 million cubic meters of natural gas per day.

Curiosity: The name chosen for the vessel, MAGNA, comes from Latin and means “Great”, just like our project, which will add 3 GW of safe energy to the country!

With the capacity to regasify 21 million m³/d and store 174 thousand m³/d of gas, the terminal will have the GNA Açu I and II thermoelectric plants as its main consumers, whose total installed capacity will be 3 GW. The UTEs will start operating in the port and industrial complex between the years of
2021 and 2023.
