New Developments in the World of Pickup Trucks Include Facelifts and Advanced Technologies That Promise to Drive the National Market

We are approaching the end of 2024, and the Brazilian automotive market is already eyeing the major developments for next year. In 2025, several pickup trucks are scheduled to arrive in the country, with updates that promise to attract the public’s attention. Below, we list five of the main launches that will mark the pickup segment in Brazil, according to the video from the Garagem 2.0 channel.

1. Fiat Toro Facelift 2025

The Fiat Toro, launched in 2015, was a pioneer in the intermediate pickup segment in Brazil and continues to be the sales leader. In 2025, the Toro will undergo its second facelift, with significant changes. The look will be updated with new headlights and a more robust design, maintaining its identity with the split headlight setup. Inside, an improved finish and the introduction of a driver assistance package (ADAS) are expected, including Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC).

In terms of mechanics, the Toro will feature a 2.2 turbo diesel engine with 200 hp, replacing the current 2.0, along with a new eight-speed automatic transmission. The launch is expected for the second half of 2025.

2. Hyundai Santa Cruz

Hyundai will finally bring the awaited Santa Cruz to Brazil. Known for its innovative and sporty design, the intermediate pickup arrives on the market with a recent facelift, which includes Full LED headlights and taillights and wheels of up to 19 inches. The interior also impresses, featuring a 10-inch multimedia center and a digital dashboard.

Regarding the powertrain, the Santa Cruz will be equipped with a 2.5 turbo engine producing 275 hp, all-wheel drive, and an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. It is expected that the pickup will cost above R$ 250 thousand and that its arrival will take place throughout 2025, competing in the market with the Ford Maverick and the Ram Rampage.

3. Ford Maverick Facelift 2025

Although it is not a best-selling vehicle in Brazil, the Ford Maverick is a phenomenon in the United States. The facelift of the pickup, expected for the first quarter of 2025, brings visual updates, such as a new front grille and redesigned headlights. The interior also receives upgrades, featuring a 13.2-inch multimedia center and a fully digital dashboard.

The Maverick will continue to offer the same engine options: a 2.0 turbo gasoline engine with 243 hp and a hybrid version, which combines a 2.5 gasoline engine with an electric motor, totaling 194 hp. The big news is that the hybrid version will come with all-wheel drive as standard.

4. Toyota Hilux Hybrid

The Toyota Hilux, one of the best-selling pickups in the world, arrives in Brazil in 2025 with a mild hybrid version. The new Hilux retains the 2.8 turbo diesel engine with 204 hp, but now features a mild electrification system, with a starter-generator that adds 16 extra hp and a start-stop system to save fuel. The facelift also includes subtle visual tweaks in the top-of-the-line versions, such as a new front grille.

The Japanese pickup is already being tested in Brazil and will feature a more modern and robust design, highlighted by the new chrome grille and Full LED headlights.
