Rumors indicate that the vehicle could hit the market with an initial offer of R$ 89,000, aiming to attract consumers for the first batch, which offers a four-seat configuration.

The initially disclosed price of R$ 98,900 already positioned the BYD Dolphin Mini as a competitive option in the electric car segment. However, BYD seems willing to aim even higher.

With the limitation of four seats in the first batch, the price reduction serves as an additional incentive. This move is seen as a way to pave the way for the five-seater version, currently in the homologation phase, which should arrive in a second batch.

The portal InsideEVs Brasil had the opportunity to experience the Dolphin Mini in Shenzhen, China, and the impressions were quite positive. The vehicle, despite its compact size (3.78 m in length and a wheelbase of 2.50 m), surprises with its interior space, comfortably accommodating four occupants. However, the smaller trunk may be a point of concern for some consumers.

Features, Battery Options, Equipment and Embedded Technology in the BYD Dolphin Mini

The BYD Dolphin Mini does not skimp on features, even being an entry-level model. It comes equipped with adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, automatic emergency braking, among others. One lingering question is the number of airbags in the Brazilian version, which may vary between four and six.

The model offers two battery options in China: one with 30 kWh, which may be the choice for the more accessible version, and a more advanced one with 38.8 kWh featuring Blade technology, providing a range of 402 km according to the Chinese test cycle. The fast charging capability, reaching from 30% to 80% in just 30 minutes, is another strong point of the vehicle.

Fit and Internal Design

The interior finish of the Dolphin Mini promises to surpass any rival available in Brazil, including established combustion models. The electric car uses rotary buttons, quality materials like rubberized plastic, soft-touch fabrics, and leather, in addition to featuring the innovative rotating screen for the multimedia center.

Dealers indicate the following prices for the Dolphin Mini in Brazil:

Dolphin Mini 30 kWh with 4 Seats: R$ 89,000
Dolphin Mini 30 kWh with 5 Seats: R$ 98,900 (coming in the coming months)
Dolphin Mini 38 kWh (Blade Battery) with 4 Seats: R$ 114,800

Note: There is a possibility of an initial reduction for the version with the 38 kWh Blade battery, potentially positioning it around R$ 105,000.
