Ceará Signed With The Transhydrogen Alliance Consortium, The 11th Agreement For The Production Of Green Hydrogen At The Pecém Complex
The government of Ceará signed the 11th memorandum of understanding for the green hydrogen production hub that will be developed at the Pecém Complex. The agreement was made on Wednesday (27) in Rotterdam, Netherlands, between the Transhydrogen Alliance consortium and the governor of Ceará, Camilo Santana. The green hydrogen project, created by the companies Proton Ventures, Global Energy Storage, Trammo, and VARO, anticipates an investment of US$ 2 billion in the coming years.

Pecém Complex Will Export Hydrogen To Europe
The green hydrogen plant is expected to produce about 500 thousand tons annually, which is equivalent to approximately 2.5 million tons of green ammonia, to be exported from the Pecém Complex to Europe. According to the governor of Ceará, this is a crucial moment for the state’s mission in Europe. From now on, the study phases for the project installation will begin.
The consortium sees Ceará as a strong producer of sustainable energy. Hans Vrijenhoef, president of the Transhydrogen Alliance consortium and Proton Ventures, celebrated the signing of the cooperation agreement with Ceará and expressed his happiness, stating that he expects to achieve great success with the green hydrogen project in the region.

Ceará Already Has 11 Signed Memorandums
11 companies have already signed the memorandum of understanding with the government of Ceará. Among them are Transhydrogen Alliance, H2helium, Enegix Energy, Fortescue, Eneva, White Martins, Hytron, Engie, Neoenergia, Diferencial, Qair.
The Green Hydrogen Hub in Ceará, implemented at the Pecém Complex, was launched this year in partnership with the Federation of Industries of Ceará (Fiec) and the Federal University of Ceará (UFC). The facility is expected to help reduce pollutant gas emissions, attract new investments, and expand job and business generation opportunities in the state, boosting the entire economy.
The green hydrogen at the Pecém Complex is produced using renewable sources and is currently considered the pillar of transformation. So far, there have already been 11 memorandums of understanding with international and national companies for project installations at the State Hub.
Green Hydrogen Creates Opportunities And New Specialized Professionals

The company has over 60 years of experience ranging from production to hydrogen distribution through natural gas, electrolysis, or biomass conversion, a method that uses electricity obtained from clean sources. The company is already involved in around 250 projects in the segment, in the USA, Europe, and over 20 countries around the world. Various vehicles such as cars, buses, forklifts, vans, airplanes, and many others have been powered with hydrogen supplied by the company.
