Since the current government administration began, São Paulo has been providing technical resources for Heineken’s actions, which has already made investments exceeding R$ 1.7 billion in just the last three years through the InvestSP project.
João Doria expressed his gratitude: “I thank Heineken for the commitment to invest R$ 320 million here in the State of SP. It means more investment, more jobs, more income, more taxes, and more development. What I emphasize at this moment, besides the investments, is the example of sustainability,” he said. According to the governor, “this is yet another investment action captured by the Government of SP and encouraged by private investments.”

The technical support initiatives created by the Government of São Paulo in conjunction with the private sector aim to promote economic development for job creation, income, and opportunities in various regions of the state. Launched in 2019, InvestSP provides support to Heineken to implement projects aimed at enhancing its units and increasing production in the state. The agency’s team has been working alongside Heineken to find the most effective ESG (Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance) solutions for the context of each city in São Paulo where there are factories.
With a greater focus on sustainability and the ESG agenda, the investment will be complemented by enhanced water efficiency; the development of projects aimed at the circularity of glass packaging; and the expansion of the use of clean and renewable energies, such as biomass boilers; among other activities.
To make sustainable growth viable, Heineken will also make investments entirely geared towards modernizing some production units in the Federal Unit of São Paulo, including increasing production potential at the Araraquara headquarters.
In conclusion, Maurício Giamellaro, President of the Heineken Group, declares: “The state of São Paulo holds a strategic position for the Heineken Group, including for supplying the Southeast region, a key market for our sector. We want to continue growing with the people of São Paulo, but with maximum respect and care for people and the environment. Therefore, an increasingly strong ESG agenda is key for everyone to grow, develop, and prosper together.”
