Heineken Invests in Renewable Energy in Agreement with Raízen. The Value of the Operation Between the Companies Was Not Revealed
Raízen, an energy company that is part of the Cosan Group, signed a contract with Heineken to supply renewable energy to the brewery’s distribution centers in 12 states in Brazil, preventing the emission of 85 tons of carbon in the country. The agreement will last for five years and the value of the operation between the companies was not revealed.

All renewable energy supplied by Raízen to the Heineken brewery will be certified by the I-REC Standard, a global system used to track the environmental attributes of energy, which promotes clean, renewable energy that meets the highest standards of energy sustainability.
According to the contract, Heineken’s 23 units in the states of Bahia, Ceará, Pernambuco, Sergipe, Maranhão, Rio Grande do Norte, Pará, Goiás, Santa Catarina, Paraná, Rio de Janeiro, and São Paulo will receive renewable energy produced by Raízen, as well as the concentrate factory in Manaus, Amazonas, and the breweries Baden Baden and Eisenbahn, which are located in Campos do Jordão, São Paulo, and Blumenau, Santa Catarina, respectively.
