A Michigan resident turned a simple request to an artificial intelligence into an unexpected victory. Tammy Carvey, 45, used ChatGPT to choose the numbers for Powerball and won a prize of US$ 100,000.

The Bet With Help From Technology

Carvey decided to participate in the online drawing in September when the jackpot exceeded US$ 1 billion. “I only play Powerball when the jackpot gets there, and the prize was more than US$ 1 billion, so I bought a ticket,” she stated. To choose the numbers, she turned to ChatGPT: “I asked ChatGPT for a set of Powerball numbers, and these were the numbers I played on my ticket.”

The bet paid off. The ticket matched four white balls and the Powerball in the drawing on September 6, which guaranteed Carvey an initial prize of US$ 50,000. Thanks to the Power Play option, the amount doubled to US$ 100,000.
