Recognition In The Biodiesel Market
BSBIOS is the market leader in biodiesel in Brazil. In 2020 alone, even amid the Covid-19 pandemic, it was able to produce about 755 million liters of biodiesel, totaling 11.7% of the country’s market share, maintaining its leadership for the third consecutive year.
“The year 2020, in which we completed 15 years of history, was challenging. Marked by the Coronavirus pandemic and the crop failure in Rio Grande do Sul, we faced this scenario by turning it into opportunities”, added Battistella.
On March 1st, there was a 1% increase in the minimum mandatory addition percentage of biodiesel blend to fossil diesel, rising from 12% to 13%. This measure is provided in Resolution 16, of 2018, from the National Energy Policy Council (CNPE), authorizing ANP to raise this percentage up to 15%. It is estimated that this will occur by 2023.
