A New Public Competition for Bacen Is Coming and Hundreds of Vacancies May Be Opened for Analysts, Technicians, and Attorneys. Salaries Can Exceed R$ 23 Thousand.

The expectation for a new public competition for Bacen (Central Bank) is growing. Despite the forecast of a new notice still in the first semester, for the filling of 245 vacancies, Bacen confirmed the submission of a new request for authorization to the Ministry of Management and Innovation of Public Services. This time, the expectation is that 545 opportunities will be opened for higher and intermediate level positions, with starting salaries of up to R$ 23,563.79.

List of Positions That Will Be Opened in the Bacen Public Competition

In the case of high school, the request submitted by Bacen is to fill 110 vacancies for the Technician position, where a duly registered certificate of completion of high school is required, issued by an educational institution officially recognized by the competent authority.

The technician works on developing technical and administrative activities that complement the duties of Bacen Analysts and Attorneys, executing necessary support and technical assistance activities to fulfill Bacen’s competencies.

For the higher education position, the distribution of requested vacancies is for the positions of Analyst and Attorney. For the analyst position, a duly registered degree in any area issued by an authorized or accredited higher education institution is required, as certified by the MEC.

This professional works in managing the inflation target system for the Brazilian payment system and the circulation services, proposing necessary interventions and monitoring external liabilities.

For the attorney vacancies, candidates in the Bacen public competition must possess a degree in law provided by a higher education institution accredited by the Ministry of Education (MEC), proof of at least two years of legal practice, and registration with the OAB.

Salaries and Benefits Offered by Bacen

According to data from the latest update of the Federal Public Servants’ Remuneration Table, the starting and final salaries for the positions that will be opened in the Bacen public competition are R$ 7,283 for technicians.

For analysts, the starting salaries are R$ 19,197.06 and the final salaries are R$ 27,369. Lastly, for the attorney position, the starting salaries are R$ 21,014.49 and the final salaries are R$ 27,303.70. The weekly workload for the positions is 40 hours.

It is important to highlight that the last Bacen public competition was held in 2013 and offered 500 job vacancies for technician and analyst positions. The selection was organized by Cebraspe/Cespe. At that time, more than 88,589 candidates registered, with a competition rate of 117 candidates per vacancy.

The last Bacen competition took place in 2013, with 500 vacancies for technician and analyst positions. At that time, the technician position had 100 vacancies and was divided between the technical-administrative support and institutional security sectors.

The requirement was completion of high school. Aiming at higher education professionals, the analyst position had 400 vacancies, across six areas of knowledge: analysis and development of systems, economic and monetary policy, support for information technology infrastructure, infrastructure and logistics, accounting and finance, and management and procedural analysis.

The selection process included an objective test, a title analysis only for analysts, a written test, and training programs for those approved. The positions were allocated in Brasília (DF), São Paulo (SP), Belém (PA), Salvador (BA), and Porto Alegre (RS).
