The Bom Futuro Group Has Become a Reference in Brazilian Agriculture. With More Than 30 Years Operating in the State of Mato Grosso, the Company Has Reached the Top With the Production and Growth of Its Rural Area.

The company has 33 units spread across the state and more than 7,000 employees working in the fields of Agriculture, Livestock, Aquaculture, Seeds, Energy, Airport, and Real Estate. Currently, it is responsible for almost 600,000 hectares of cultivated land, where about 1.7 million tons of grain per year are produced.

But what truly impresses is the company’s vision: “To be a global reference in productivity and a leader in food production.” To achieve this, the Bom Futuro Group has developed several techniques that combine productivity, increased profitability, and environmental sustainability for agricultural activities. One of the highlights is the Crop-Livestock Integration (ILP) project, which has been recognized as the largest project in the world in this segment.

The ILP consists of the diversification, rotation, and consociation of livestock and crop activities within the rural property in a harmonious way. Furthermore, this system allows the company to achieve significant advantages such as the reduction of the cost of pasture renovations; breaking the pest cycle; forming straw for direct planting; producing its own seeds; among other improvements.

The technology developed by the Bom Futuro Group has profoundly impacted Brazilian agriculture. According to Cléber Soares, Executive Director of Embrapa Innovation and Technology: “In the last 10 years, we went from 7 million to over 15 million hectares using the ILP system. This is a one-way street because the world needs Brazilian farmers to produce increasingly productive and resilient agriculture.”

Thus, the Bom Futuro Group continues to be a reference in the Brazilian agricultural sector, showing that it is possible to achieve success with sustainable technological innovations that deliver concrete results for rural activities.

Animal Welfare

The great news is that Bom Futuro, a Brazilian agricultural and livestock production company based in Mato Grosso, has become the world’s largest crop-livestock integration (ILP) project. With a total area of approximately 583,000 hectares, the company has a total of 31,000 hectares dedicated exclusively to ILP.

As a result of this integration model, the company has become the world’s largest individual producer of soybeans and the largest in the cotton crop in Brazil. It has about 130,000 heads of cattle from the Nelore breed and industrial crosses maintained under a semi-confinement and confinement system.

Another important aspect of this farm is its concern for environmental sustainability. The farm has a creative solution for shading, where animals do not graze on passion fruit, allowing a temperature of up to 10ºC below that usually exists inside the trellis. During the dry season, the plants maintain dry foliage to provide shade for the leisure areas of the animals kept on the property.

However, Bom Futuro adopts a culture of good animal treatment, constantly improving the welfare of cattle raised in its fields. Lastly, it also provides housing, a hotel, a school, a theater, and a cinema for its employees and their families.

This news is a clear example that shows that in Brazil sustainability is taken seriously. Bom Futuro has transformed success into agricultural and livestock productivity and has become a world reference in what can be achieved when nature and agricultural production are harmonized.
