Exploration and production centers in shallow waters should represent just 2% of the total next year, according to Petrobras' plans

Petrobras estimates that its assets in deep and ultra-deep waters will represent 88% of the total exploration and production (E&P) centers next year, against 55% currently. the state oil company carries out the largest seismic survey in the world in Búzios

The announcement was made this Tuesday, November 19, by Roberto Ardenghy, executive director of Institutional Relations at the company.

The transformation will take place while the state-owned company carries out a billionaire asset sales program, which is focused on adapting the portfolio for projects with a higher financial return, essentially the pre-salt, in the Campos and Santos basins.

"Petrobras is selecting those projects where it has the most capacity to recover the amount invested, pursuing low costs...", said this Tuesday the executive director of Institutional Relations of the state-owned oil company, Roberto Ardenghy.

In Petrobras' plans, exploration and production centers in shallow waters should represent only 2020% of the total in 2, against 8% currently. Poles on land should reach 10%, compared to 37% in the same comparison.

During an event at the Federation of Industries of the State of Rio de Janeiro (firjan), Ardenghy stated “Today, 24% of our fields, in deep waters, produce 81% of the oil that Petrobras produces, while 76% of our fields, in shallow waters and on land, produce only 19% of the volume produced.”

During his presentation, he also emphasized the interest of the state company in moving forward with its projects in partnerships with foreign companies.

According to the executive, the expectation is that assets in partnership with other companies represent 57% of the total in 2020, compared to 34% currently.
