The projects between Embraer and Kenya Airways will establish a basis of concepts and procedures for the operation of electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft.

This morning, Eve, an Embraer company, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Kenya Airways, through its wholly owned subsidiary Fahari Aviation. This collaboration aims to develop new operational projects for the wide accessibility of Urban Air Mobility (UAM) in support of Fahari Aviation's main markets. The Embraer and Kenya Airways project

Fahari Aviation, the Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) division of African airline Kenya Airways, promotes the safe use of UAS in the region and will be supported by Eve in establishing its UAM network, contributing to the development of project requirements and operational environment necessary for Urban Air Traffic Management (Uatm).

The partnership between Kenya Airways and Embraer will develop a robust strategy to provide Fahari Aviation passengers with a sustainable, affordable and cost-effective transportation option. It is estimated that using EVA from the airport to the city center can reduce conventional travel by up to 90%, turning an hour and a half journey into a 6-minute flight.

New technologies used in the project

The all-electric vehicle by Eve, an Embraer company, was designed to be accessible to all, with low noise and no carbon emissions. Fully suited to the UAM concept, the vehicle will bring all traditional aviation travelers closer to their destination efficiently and comfortably.

Andre Stein, President & CEO of Eve (an Embraer company), says, “We are excited to partner with Kenya Airways to provide new forms of air mobility for people and cargo across the region. Creating disruptive and widely accessible Urban Air Mobility solutions will help democratize mobility, making it more accessible, cost-effective and giving communities more choices. This partnership will promote long-term mobility strategies across the country and region. With the support of our aircraft and aerospace services and Kenya Airways' innovative approach to air mobility, we are excited to open up this region to more sustainable and user-friendly air access for all.”

Embraer is making several partnerships for its flying cars. Last week, the company made a contract for 200 flying vehicles, this week, there will be another 50. She stated that she also has a new partnership with Uber for future projects.

The partnership between Eve Urban Air Mobility, a subsidiary of Embraer, and Helisul Aviation, a company that works with helicopters, includes 50 electric take-off and vertical landing cars, known as eVTOL, with delivery scheduled for 2026. Halo's order is the largest flying car order in the urban air mobility industry.

The agreement with Halo also provided for the company to work together with Embraer to create a new flying vehicle operation in the United States and United Kingdom. Returning to the agreement with Helisul, at first the companies will work with helicopters to analyze parameters that can be used in the future by flying cars. The partnership between the companies also promises to develop services and products that enable vehicle operations, such as air traffic management solutions.
