Job Positions Will Be Available for the Whole Region of Resende, RJ. It Is Estimated That Nissan Will Hire More Than 500 New Employees to Help with the Resumption of Operations of the Second Shift of the Factory
Nissan announced last Wednesday (6) that it will hire 578 new employees to work starting in February at the Resende/RJ factory. The selection process for job positions will start later this month. Nissan plans to expand the production of the Kicks SUV model to 400 units per day. The decision was made after a decline in production and sales last year when the company was operating on just one shift due to the covid-19 pandemic. About 398 employees were laid off at that time. Currently, Nissan has 1,800 workers, with 800 on the production line.

Before the global pandemic, the automaker also produced the March and Versa vehicles, but the sales level of each was 35% lower than that of the Nissan Kicks. This is due to the design changes that Kicks underwent, in addition to other technological items in its structure.
Cousseau reported that Nissan is also facing issues, such as the semiconductor supply shortage, but to a lesser extent compared to other automakers. With the production line halted for 18 days, Cousseau said that this month, the RJ factory will operate normally, with two Saturdays of overtime, in an effort to recover some of what was lost. Therefore, it is necessary to hire more workers to help with the extra tasks.
