The New Amazon Distribution Center in Recife Was Built and Leased by the Company Armazzena, Creating Hundreds of Jobs for the People of Pernambuco
The multinational Amazon, one of the largest in the e-commerce sector worldwide, announced on Tuesday (5) that it will open a new distribution center in Brazil. The Amazon Distribution Center will be located in Cabo de Santo Agostinho, in the metropolitan region of Recife. It is estimated that approximately 860 jobs will be created for Recife and nearby areas.

The distribution center was built and leased by the Pernambuco-based company led by entrepreneur Gerson Lucena, Armazzena. The building of the Amazon distribution center in Recife will follow all sanitary safety protocols against the coronavirus. Dealing with the Pandemic
According to Amazon, operations at the new distribution center in Recife include all permanent and operational sanitary safety protocols against the coronavirus, aiming to obtain health solutions quickly, effectively, and safely for the well-being of its employees.
Since the onset of the global pandemic, Amazon has prioritized the health and well-being of its employees. At its locations around the world, Amazon has made more than 150 changes to distribution centers to minimize the impacts of the coronavirus, in addition to ensuring the safety of its employees, such as social distancing, wearing masks, gloves, intensification of cleaning services, and hygiene and sanitization processes of the environment.

In this new distribution center alone, around 860 direct and indirect job openings will be generated. With the inauguration of the distribution center in Recife, the company expects to employ over 6,3 thousand people by the Black Friday and Christmas seasons, in addition to creating thousands of temporary job openings.
