Due to the increase in fuel prices which has reached R$7 in some regions, consumers in Paraíba have embraced the use of CNG for their mobility. Compressed Natural Gas provides drivers with savings of at least R$ 700 when compared to gasoline

With the increase in liquid fuels such as gasoline and ethanol, Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) has become the solution for consumers to reduce expenses when filling their vehicles in Paraíba. Currently, using CNG results in savings of 43% in Greater João Pessoa and 37% in Campina Grande. The competitiveness takes into account the relationship between the fuel price, distance traveled with CNG and gasoline, and the average performance of the car with each fuel.

CNG Costs Less Than R$ 5 in Paraíba

On the 15th of this month, a survey conducted by the Paraíba Gas Company (PBGás) in the Preço da Hora app showed that the average price of gasoline at gas stations in the capital was R$ 5.88, while the price of CNG was R$ 4.15.

To give an idea of the savings level, in Paraíba consumers who drive 3,000 km per month, for example, could save R$ 705.42 based on the average performance of a popular vehicle. While consumers using gasoline would spend R$ 1,648 per month, those using CNG would spend only R$ 943. In Campina Grande, using gasoline would cost R$ 1,665 and CNG only R$ 1,056, generating savings of R$ 608, potentially reaching R$ 750.

According to driver Feliciano Fernandes, who has worked for over 2 years as an app driver, he noticed a significant improvement in his savings after installing the 5th generation CNG kit.

PBGás President Gives Statement

According to Jailson Galvão, president of PBGás, he noted that this is a significant saving for consumers, especially those who need to make longer trips and use their car as a work tool. The president of the Paraíba company also highlighted the advancements seen in recent years in CNG kits and the importance of installation in workshops approved by INMETRO.

Currently, the 5th generation kits maintain the performance and savings of vehicles. The Automotive Market Manager at PBGás, Alairson Gonçalves Filho, emphasized that CNG is historically cheaper than ethanol and gasoline. Throughout its history, CNG has always been less expensive than other liquid fuels.

According to the manager of the Paraíba company, if consumers had saved at least 40% on all fuel expenses over the last 20 years, it would amount to a significant sum. Those who use CNG know this and maintain their commitment to savings.

Other States Use CNG as Their Primary Fuel Source

In addition to Paraíba, other states also use CNG, such as consumers in Ribeirão Preto (SP) who are turning to gas to save money when filling up.

In Pernambuco, Copergás is expanding its network of stations by installing two more in Bom Sucesso and Perimetral. Currently, the company has 86 units and aims to reach 100 CNG fueling points in Pernambuco by the end of the year.
