Pickup Will Be Launched in August with New Square Design, Electronic Brake, and Visual Aligned with Fiat’s European Line
The new Fiat Toro 2026 appeared completely uncamouflaged, revealing its new look ahead of the official debut scheduled for August. The scoop, published by the profile @janacletos on Instagram, shows the pickup already being transported to dealerships, with visual changes reminiscent of the European Fiat Panda.
The update marks the second redesign of the model since its launch in 2016. This time, the new Fiat Toro 2026 bets on straighter lines and visual elements inspired by European Fiats such as Cronos, Pulse, and Fastback. The brand’s strategy is to keep the Toro competitive in light of new rivals in the segment, such as pickups from Renault, Volkswagen, and the upcoming update of the Chevrolet Montana.
More Robust Visual, Refined Interior, and Familiar Engine

At the front, the new Fiat Toro 2026 features a slotted central grille, split headlights, and new rectangular niches at the edges of the bumper. The fog lights have been inherited from the Fastback, while the rear showcases a redesigned bumper and darkened taillights. The result is a more “square” and robust visual, clearly inspired by the European Fiat Panda.

Fiat launches the new 2027 Toro hybrid with 48V, 176 hp, an electric motor of 15.5 hp, a 0.85 kWh battery, up to 7% fuel savings, 8% fewer emissions, and possible exemption from IPVA.
Internally, the main novelty is the adoption of the electronic parking brake, a feature that was missing in the Toro among models from the Goiana (PE) plant. The system is already equipped in other models of the group, such as Renegade, Compass, and Rampage. The multimedia center and other finishes remain virtually the same, with only visual adjustments.
Engine Remains the Same, but Electrification Will Still Wait

Despite the external and internal changes, the engine remains the same. The new Fiat Toro 2026 maintains the 1.3 turbo flex T270 engine, with up to 176 hp and 27.5 kgfm of torque, coupled with the CVT automatic transmission with a simulation of seven gears. Fiat chose not to include the mild hybrid (MHEV) system for this engine at this time, which is expected to occur in a future update of the line.
The decision to keep the current mechanical set may be related to the strategy of controlling costs in this first phase, while preparing for partial electrification in the upcoming cycles of the model and also in other vehicles that share the engine.
Toro Remains a Key Piece for Fiat in Brazil
Even in the final phase of the current cycle, the Toro continues to be among the most relevant models of Fiat. According to official data from Stellantis, 23,332 units were registered in the first half of 2025, solidifying the model as the fifth best-selling of the brand in the country, behind only Strada, Argo, Mobi, and Fastback.
With this redesign, the new Fiat Toro 2026 enters into direct competition with models such as Renault Oroch, Volkswagen Tarok (not yet launched), and the new Chevrolet Montana. The competitiveness of the segment demands updated design, technological content, and soon, electrified powertrains — and Fiat seems to be preparing all these steps.
