Informed about the incident, the three employees began the search early in the morning. They checked the trash bins and rummaged through some of the discarded materials, but did not find the bag on the first attempt.
Even with no initial result, they decided to resume the search in the afternoon. The decision came from them, according to information shared on social media by the condominium residents.
Bag with R$ 5 Thousand Was Located Minutes Before Collection
Just before the arrival of the collection truck, the group returned to the location where the trash was stored.
It was at this moment that they found the bag with R$ 5 thousand, preventing the amount from being collected along with the waste.
After locating it, they notified the resident and returned the money, which was intact. Footage captured by security cameras shows the moment of the return.
Money Had Been Discarded by Mistake
According to information provided to the São José Mil Grau website, the amount was kept in a bag used to carry work materials. Without realizing it, the resident discarded the item along with the household trash.
Upon noticing the absence of the money, he retraced his steps inside the condominium and concluded that he might have thrown the bag away. The risk was that the material would be collected the same day, which motivated the request for help.
