Huawei, the giant Chinese telecommunications company, is preparing to enter the electric car industry and become a strong competitor to Tesla and other companies in the market. Huawei is looking for ways to try to increase its revenue sources. The Chinese giant has suffered significantly from the sanctions imposed by President Trump during the trade war between the giants.

According to Bloomberg, Chinese executives recently stated that the company’s autonomous driving technology is already more advanced than Tesla’s. The driving technology of the Chinese giant is already seen as more advanced than Tesla’s in some aspects. One of the most important is the ability to travel about 1,000 kilometers without any human intervention.

Huawei’s idea is to partner with Chinese automaking companies. The cars will be assembled with Huawei’s branding as a sub-brand. ”The smart car business unit receives one of the heaviest investments from Huawei. We will invest more than US $1 billion in automotive components development this year”, said Xu, an executive at Huawei.
