In the struggle for national shipbuilding, Sinaval meets with government representatives

The country's Shipbuilding Industries Union went to Brasília for a meeting agenda to address the current situation and perspectives of the Brazilian Shipbuilding and Offshore Industry.

Sinaval, an institution that represents Brazilian shipyards installed in different regions of the country, went to Brasília for an agenda of meetings with government authorities.
The president of Sinaval, Ariovaldo Rocha, was with a delegation of directors from the entity and also accompanied by representatives of shipyards affiliated to the institution.

The delegation was received on the morning of Monday, July 22, by the Vice-President of the Republic Hamilton Mourão, who was able to learn a little better about the current situation of shipbuilding and national shipyards.
The presidents of the shipyards are very concerned about the provisional measure that eases the rules for importing new or used ships for use in cabotage (navigation between ports in the same country).

The entourage representing the shipyards was represented by the presidents of the shipyards, Maurício Bastos de Almeida (President of Enseada Indústria Naval) and Harro Burmann (President of Atlântico Sul Shipyard).

The second meeting of the day

The Director of Sinaval, Jorge Ferraz, had also scheduled a meeting with the Minister of Mines and Energy, Bento Albuquerque, for the afternoon on the same day.

In this second meeting, the minister who was accompanied by the Secretary of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels Marcio Felix Carvalho Bezerra and the Chief of Staff José Roberto Bueno Junior, received the delegation and discussed issues on competitiveness bottlenecks and measures at the governmental level about the nation's shipbuilding and offshore industry.

Attending the meeting were Minister Bento Albuquerque, Gilberto Israel (Director of BrasFELS and Keppel FELS), Jorge Ferraz (Director of SINAVAL), T. Guhan (President of EJA-Estaleiro Jurong Aracruz), Jorge Faria (Advisor to the Presidency of SINAVAL ), Maurício Bastos de Almeida (President of Enseada Indústria Naval), Minister Bento Albuquerque, Ariovaldo Rocha (President of SINAVAL), Lucila Lopes (Director of EJA-Estaleiro Jurong Aracruz) and Marcio Felix Carvalho Bezerra (Secretary of the MME).
