2W Energia Is Advancing Its Plan to Expand Its Operations in the Renewable Energy Generation Sector by Affirming the Financing of Its First Wind Power Parks in the Northeast.
2W Energia will invest approximately R$ 950 million in the Northeast, building two wind power parks: one in Ceará and another in Rio Grande do Norte, further boosting the Brazilian renewable energy sector.

The strategy for investing in wind energy in the Northeast is due to strong growth in the free energy market, where customers with high demand can negotiate prices and supplies with trading companies.
The company expects that in about 2 months, mobilization for the construction of the first wind power park in the Northeast, which will be in Anemus, Rio Grande do Norte, with 139 megawatts, will begin. Completion is expected by September 2022.

The world has bet on green hydrogen as the fuel of the future, but now faces the side effect: producing 1 kilogram requires about 9 liters of ultrapure water, and the largest projects on the planet are precisely in the driest regions of the Earth, where water is already scarce for people.
The other investment will be the wind power plant located in Kairós, Ceará, with 42 megawatts, starting construction from the end of the second semester, around December. The renewable energy company secured a mezzanine loan of US$ 45 million from Darby International Capital. US$ 35 million will be used for the Anemus wind power project.
The remaining loan amount is expected to be used for the Kairós project. The company hopes to secure resources from the Banco do Nordeste for the works, which will total an investment of R$ 950 million.
Authorities from 2W Comment on the New Investment in Renewable Energy in Brazil
According to Guilherme Moya, Vice President of Commercial and Marketing at 2W, the company has been advancing in the commercialization of future production from Anemus in the Northeast, focusing on small and medium-sized companies considered retail clients.
He states that if the current pace continues, the renewable energy company will sell all the energy from the wind power park in retail before commercial operation. The investment strategy is to have 100% of the energy for the next three years from the park in the Northeast sold under contracts of at least 5 years.
The CEO of the company, Claudio Ribeiro, hopes to conclude the deal in 60 days after determining how payment will be handled. The company’s main idea is to engage in some structured operation, share exchange, or something similar. According to Ribeiro, the company intends to increasingly approach technology in a broad sense.
