The company has taken advantage of the good opportunity that came with the new global specification for marine fuels called IMO 2020 (where the value of the amount of sulfur in fuel oil was reduced from 3,5% to 0,5%), since the company is a reference in the production of oil and fuel oil with low sulfur content.
Not only fuel oil exports but also crude oil are at high levels. In February, commodity exports exceeded 690 barrels per day.
Despite world conditions not being so favorable for the oil market and also exports, due to the coronavirus outbreak (Covide-19), Petrobras highlighted that new flows were adjusted, expanding the destination of its oil and fuel oils to the United States , Europe, Caribbean, among other markets.
The current period is sensitive to major changes and to the global economy, which means that the demand for oil and derivatives in Asia (the main destination for the oil company's exports) decreases.
Furthermore, it is important to emphasize that it is not possible to accurately estimate all the impacts that the company may suffer, in terms of its operations and results, since the consequences of the incidence of the virus in different regions of the world affect the global economy.
