The Operation, Held on May 18, 2025, Involved the Escort of Three Trucks with Wind Blades in Action Supporting the Logistics of New Parks in the Northeast

The Federal Highway Police (PRF) completed on Sunday, May 18, 2025, the first escort operation for wind blades along BR-101 in Pernambuco. The action, which had been postponed due to rain on May 15 and 16, took place in the Curado section, in the Metropolitan Region of Recife, without compromising vehicle flow. Three specialized trucks transported large wind blades, starting the crossing at 6:25 AM at Km 94 of BR-101, in Cabo de Santo Agostinho, and concluding around 7:00 AM at Km 70. According to the PRF, the operation was executed according to technical protocols and with no reported incidents. The aim of the action was to ensure the safe transportation of components that will be used in the construction of a wind farm in Paraíba.

Transport Advances Along the Roads to Northeastern Sertão

The escort team led the convoy along BR-232 to Sertânia, at Km 278, and parked the vehicles at a pre-defined location. According to the PRF, the equipment continues along a state road to the municipality of Nova Palmeira, in Paraíba. The teams will install the blades at the site, in a renewable energy generation park that is part of the regional energy matrix expansion plan. The operation reinforces the need for logistical planning for the transportation of large structures, highlighting the importance of integrated action among public institutions. The corporation stated that it carried out all stages accurately and according to the approved schedule.

New Interdictions Scheduled for the Continuity of the Operation

The PRF announced new escorts for Tuesday, May 20, and Thursday, May 22, 2025. These interdicts will occur at Km 70 of BR-101, always between 5:00 AM and 5:30 AM, aiming to preserve road safety and reduce traffic impacts. The operation follows the same technical standard as the previous action, with real-time monitoring by PRF teams and direct communication with other traffic agencies. The interdicts are part of the continuity plan for delivering components to the wind farm, according to the authorized transport schedule. According to the PRF, the strategy is to maintain road fluidity and ensure compliance with the established deadlines for the movement of the trucks.

Logistics of Wind Blades Contributes to the Expansion of the National Energy Matrix

The transportation of wind components requires detailed logistics, adequate infrastructure, and coordinated action from various public and private sectors. According to data from the Brazilian Wind Energy Association (ABEEólica), updated in May 2025, Brazil has more than 24 GW of installed capacity in wind energy. This volume makes this source the second largest in the national electric matrix, behind only hydroelectric. The Northeast leads production, especially with the installation of new wind farms that require logistics operations like those coordinated by the PRF. These operations not only ensure the safe delivery of equipment but also strengthen the renewable energy production chain in the country.

Northeast Reinforces Its Role in the Transportation of Wind Blades with the Support of the PRF

The PRF’s actions directly contribute to strengthening the renewable energy infrastructure in Brazil. Pernambuco and Paraíba, states involved in the operation, are among those receiving the most investment in wind farms currently. According to data from the Ministry of Mines and Energy released in April 2025, the Northeast accounts for about 85% of the country’s installed wind energy capacity. The success of the operation on May 18 represents an efficient model of integrated logistics, public safety, and support for sustainable regional development. The expectation is that similar operations will continue to be carried out with the same quality, ensuring the necessary support for the sector’s growth.
