Tesla Pickup Owner Who Sells the Vehicle Will Have to Pay a Fine of R$ 270 or Share Profits from the Sale.

Few recent releases have generated as much anticipation as the Tesla Cybertruck. Unveiled in 2019, the electric truck with straight lines and a stainless steel body promised to revolutionize the market.

However, repeated delays meant that the pickup reached buyers years later, and worse: the first impressions are not as encouraging as expected.

YouTuber Tyler Hoover is one of the first owners to express discontent. According to him, on his YouTube channel, a total of US$ 100,000 (equivalent to about R$ 540,000) was spent to purchase the Cybertruck.

However, he points out that the model has numerous problems such as the use of hard plastics in the finish, rust spots on mechanical parts such as the wheel hubs, and sharp edges on the bodywork that ended up injuring his fingers. All this after just one month of use.

For Tyler Hoover, this is the ideal time to sell the Cybertruck, as the model is likely to depreciate further. However, he reveals the existence of an unusual barrier: a fine.

According to the YouTuber, Tesla has created a contract preventing some owners from selling the pickup in the first year after purchase, imposing a fine of US$ 50,000 (approximately R$ 272,000) or taking all profits from the sale.

Not enough, the YouTuber also revealed that many dealerships refuse to buy the used Cybertruck or accept it as part of the payment, precisely because of this fine. This situation has generated frustration among the first buyers, who find themselves limited in their resale options.

Meet the Tesla Cybertruck

The Tesla Cybertruck is available in three distinct versions. The entry-level version, called Rear-Wheel Drive, promises to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.5 seconds. However, this version will only be available starting in 2025 and its power has not yet been disclosed.

The mid-level version, All-Wheel Drive, offers 608 horsepower and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds. Finally, the top-of-the-line version, known as Cyberbeast, delivers an impressive 856 horsepower and reaches 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds.

The futuristic design of the Cybertruck, with its straight and angular lines, is one of the vehicle’s most striking aspects. Since its unveiling, the distinctive aesthetics have sparked debate.

During the launch event, the manufacturer conducted a glass impact test that did not go as planned, resulting in a broken rear window. Despite this, one of the major highlights of the Cybertruck is its towing capacity of six tons and the bed that can hold 2,800 liters.

Challenges and Opportunities

The Tesla Cybertruck faces a series of challenges in its initial commercialization phase. In addition to the finishing problems and contractual limitations on resale, the company needs to manage the high expectations of consumers.

According to experts, the reputation of Tesla, and especially of CEO Elon Musk, is at stake, as the brand is known for bold innovations and daring promises.

At the same time, the Cybertruck presents significant opportunities. This is because the electric pickup segment is growing, and the towing capacity and performance of the vehicle are attributes that can attract a specific audience. The unique aesthetics may be a selling point for consumers looking for something different in the automotive market.

No atual panorama dos carros elétricos, esta havendo uma competicao de mercado.Um Tesla nao é qualquer carro.Deve significar status para quem compra.Acho parte de uma estrategia a multa imposta, para impedir a revenda do carro,no primeiro ano, para valorizar o produto.Neste setor, parece que existe um marketing negativo de combate à Tesla,ou ao Ceo Elon Musk, ,que visa desqualificar o produto e a imagem de Elon Musk.Portanto, acho válido que a multa, seja uma maneira de garantir a efetivacao e permanência ,do excelente produto da Tesla no mercado.
