The Importance Of Solar Energy Projects
According to the university’s rector, Professor Doctor Gillianno Mazzetto, the action of the plants with more than a thousand solar panels is fundamental, as well as other sustainable projects. He states that the university aims to increasingly become a global institution, so it needs to think about what humanity seeks, such as the restoration of ecosystems. Thus, the institution embraces the proposal made by the United Nations.
Tocantins Stands Out In The Solar Energy Sector
Especially during the dry season, the use of solar energy in Tocantins has seen a significant increase, totaling 30% in recent years. In addition to contributing to sustainability, the installation of solar panels in the region helps residents save on their electricity bills, further encouraging its use.
In March, the state received a new power plant after an investment of R$ 1 billion, specifically in the municipality of Colinas. The plant will have an installed capacity of 300 Megawatts.
According to the Solar Irradiance Atlas, the state has high levels of solar incidence, directly contributing to better efficiency in solar energy panels and clean, renewable, free generation. The state holds the title of the best state with solar irradiation in the northern region of Brazil, constantly developing in technologies.
