In the state of Tocantins, for the second consecutive month, the employment index was positive, and a large part of this balance was thanks to the construction industry. The sector created over 600 jobs in July, followed by commerce, information and financial activities, general industries, and agriculture. In Minas Gerais, hiring also increased.

In the capital Palmas, the sectors that employed the most were commerce, information and financial activities, construction, and general industries. The number of people hired in July was 1,858, while the number of people laid off was a total of 1,425, resulting in a positive balance of 433 positions.
In the interior of Tocantins, cities like Araguaína, Gurupi, and Paraíso all saw commerce as the leading employer, and all had positive balances.

In the state of Minas Gerais, a total of 15,843 new jobs were created. In the capital, Belo Horizonte, there were 1,128 new jobs. The construction sector was the largest employer in the capital, with a total of 2,223 new job positions, nearly half of the 5,385 created in Minas.
According to Geraldo Linhares, president of the State Construction Industry Union, “The construction industry being classified as essential by the governor, and thus not halting ongoing projects, were determining factors for us to continue generating jobs.”
Another factor indicating that the construction industry is in a good phase is the sale of new residential properties both in Belo Horizonte and in the city of Nova Lima, where the indicator showed a growth of 74.34% compared to the previous month.
