Petrobras Created the Gas Voucher Program Aiming to Assist Families in Social Vulnerability
Petrobras announced the creation of a social program focused on liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), with a gas voucher, that will deliver 300,000 aids to support the acquisition of cooking gas cylinders by families in a condition of social vulnerability, until December 2021. In the initial phase, Petrobras will invest R$ 30 million of the total R$ 300 million approved by the Board of Directors, to apply by the end of next year.

In a statement sent to the Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM), Petrobras informed that, for 2021, two lines of actions were accepted that will directly benefit approximately 300,000 families with the gas voucher aid.
How the Gas Voucher Will Work
In the first line of action, investments will be directed to philanthropic institutions that are affiliated with Petrobras in carrying out socio-environmental projects. These institutions operate around Petrobras’s operations and will provide the gas voucher aid, worth R$ 100.00, to 90,000 socially vulnerable families living in these locations.

These families, who have already received assistance from Petrobras through donations of food baskets and/or food cards in recent months, will now also receive, by the end of 2021, the gas voucher aid for the purchase of a cooking gas cylinder.
In the second line of action approved, Petrobras will provide 210,000 families with the gas voucher aid for the purchase of cooking gas cylinders. This initiative will be managed through a partnership with the Banco do Brasil Foundation and other companies and institutions, such as Vibra Energia and Fundación Mapfre, in addition to Banco do Brasil and associated companies, such as BB Seguros, Banco do Brasil Distribuidora de Títulos e Valores Mobiliários (BB DTVM), BB Consórcios, Livelo, Cielo, and others.
According to Petrobras, the Banco do Brasil Foundation develops the project Brasileiros pelo Brasil, which buys products from family farming to assemble food baskets that are donated to residents of municipalities and communities with low Human Development Index (HDI) throughout Brazil. Through the partnership with Petrobras, in addition to a food basket, families will receive gas voucher assistance worth R$ 100.00 to purchase an LPG cylinder by the end of 2021.
“Regarding the R$ 270 million that will be used throughout 2022, the model is still in the study phase. This initiative reinforces Petrobras’s social role and demonstrates its commitment to increasingly contribute to society”, Petrobras stated about the gas voucher aid project.
