The Volvo EX90 Will Be Launched in 2024 as a Three-Row, Seven-Seat SUV, But the Vehicle Has an Expansion Plan, Said Anders Gustafsson, President and CEO of Volvo America and Head of Volvo Cars Americas. By the End of the Decade, Volvo Will Be a Fully Electric Car Company, with the EX90 as the Flagship and More to Come.

According to Javier Varela, Chief Operating Officer of Volvo Cars, there are more Variants and Configurations to Come Within the Electric SUV.

The EX90 Will Be Powered by All-Wheel Drive with Two Motors. If the Rear Is a Single Motor Version, It Will Tilt Back. The Modular Platform Can Also Accommodate a Performance Version. Volvo Wants to Move Away from Typical Trim Levels and Instead Offer Vehicles with Different Equipment Levels.

The Three-Row Electric SUV Debuted at an Event in Sweden in November. Attendees of CES 2023 in January May See the 2024 Volvo EX90 for the First Time in an Exhibition with Partners, Including Supplier Luminar.

Thus, This Becomes Another Electric SUV Aiming to Heat Up the Electric Vehicle Market in the Coming Years, Where More and More People Are Embracing Renewable Energies in the Combustion of Their Cars Worldwide, with Major Companies Here in Brazil Already Providing This Vast Technology to Customers.

Electric SUV with Senior SPA

The EX90 Is the First Electric SUV on the New SPA2 Platform, a Purpose-Built EV Platform That Is an Evolution of the SPA (Scalable Product Architecture) Used by Current Models Like the Volvo XC90. “This Is New,” Said Gustafsson About the SPA2, the 2024 EX90 Which Will Be the First Electric-Specific Volvo That Does Not Plan to Have an Internal Combustion Engine Option.

The EX90 Will Begin Production in 2023 with Deliveries in 2024. It Will Share an Assembly Line with the Two-Row Electric SUV Polestar 3, Which Made Its Worldwide Debut in October. Both Electric Vehicles Will Be Assembled at Volvo’s Factory in Chengdu, China, in 2023, and by 2024, They Will Also Come Off the Assembly Line at Volvo’s Renovated and Expanded Factory in Ridgeville, South Carolina.

The Polestar 3 Will Technically Be the First Vehicle to Use the New Dedicated SPA2 Platform; Prototype Production Is Underway at Volvo’s Factory in China, and the EX90 Will Be Built Soon. The Polestar 3 Will Be Exported to U.S. Customers in the Second Half of 2023.

The Next Big News: Volvo’s GPA Structure

As Volvo and Polestar Prepare to Launch New Cars on SPA2, Engineers Are Already Working on the Next Evolution of the Platform, the Global Product Architecture (GPA). The GPA Will Use the 800-Volt System for Faster Charging Than the 400-Volt System of the EX90. It Will Have Modularity to Create a Broader Range of Vehicle Types and Sizes and Address Price Parity with Internal Combustion Engine Vehicles.
