As a highlight, the hybrid Land Rover Defender generates a range of up to 760 km and can achieve 30 km/l fuel consumption.

Land Rover Defender hybrid delivers more than 400 horsepower

Available only in body size 110 and for up to 5 people, the Defender P400e PHEV is very different from the MHEV version, the only one sold until then. In the new model, The 2.0 Ingenium engine has 300 horsepower and runs on gasoline. It is combined with a 104 horsepower electric drive and a battery with a capacity of 19,2 kWh. Altogether, the SUV has 404 horsepower and its 100% electric range is 51 km, according to the WLTP cycle. The autonomy of the two engines together is up to 760 km.

It is important to highlight that the PHEV models, are hybrids and must be recharged in a special socket. The Land Rover Defender Hybrid P400e PHEV is already equipped with a Mode 3 charger cable. Using a 7 kW charger, the SUV needs 2 hours to charge from 0% to 80%.

The time reduces if the socket is 50 kW. In this case and with a Mode 3 cable, the Defender P400e PHEV needs 30 minutes to go from 0% to 80%. The Mode 2 cable is optional, but it takes 7 hours to charge the SUV from 0% to 80%.

New hybrid Land Rover Defender arrives costing more than R$750

The new hybrid model equipped with the PHEV package can deliver more power than the SUV versions equipped with a 3.0 6-cylinder turbodiesel engine. The Defender PHEV emits just 74 grams per kilometer driven, according to the automaker. In fact, the number released by Land Rover regarding the SUV's consumption is incredible. It can reach up to 30,3 km/l. Its top speed is 191 km/h and can go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5,6 seconds.

Being sold in the X and X-Dynamic HSE versions, the new Land Rover Defender hybrid has several standard items. It features 20-inch alloy wheels, pneumatic suspension, All Terrain Progress Control and Terrain Response 2, Meridian sound system, Matrix LED headlights, fog lights, Windsor Ebony leather seats, Pivi Pro infotainment system with 11,4-inch screen and more items. The X variant also has a head-up display, three-zone air conditioning and more equipment. The brand's new PHEV SUV starts at R$760.250.

Advantages of PHEV

The plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) is an automobile that operates with a combustion engine internal and another electrical. However, despite having the combustion engine as support, it leaves the factory with a recharging cable. This car can offer even more benefits than other hybrid vehicles.

The driver can choose to use only the electric motor. Contributing to reducing fuel costs and reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, PHEVs have larger batteries with greater capacity than others hybrid vehicles, such as lightweight, among other advantages.
