Stellantis Will Transfer Production of the Peugeot 2008 from Porto Real (RJ) to Argentina, Thus Stopping the Production of Passenger Cars in Brazil.
Stellantis made a strategic decision that will impact the positioning of Peugeot and Citroën in the country. From 2024, Peugeot will no longer produce passenger cars in Brazil.
With this change, the production of the Peugeot 2008, currently centered in Porto Real, Rio de Janeiro, will be transferred to Argentina, freeing up space for Citroën at the plant. Citroën plans to add the C3 Aircross to the production line, joining the C3 and C4 Cactus, which are already manufactured on site.
The departure of the Peugeot 2008 means that the French brand will only have one model manufactured in Brazil: the Partner Rapid, a utility derived from the Fiat Fiorino and produced by Stellantis in Betim.
