International Survey Shows That The Price Of The iPhone 16 Pro In Brazil Is The Second Most Expensive In The World. Discover Where The Cheapest iPhone In The World Is And Understand The Reasons For This Disparity.

A new survey from Deutsche Bank drew attention to the price of the iPhone in Brazil. The study compared the value of the iPhone 16 Pro with 128 GB in 41 countries.

The result places Brazil in second place among the most expensive in the world. Here, the model costs around US$ 1,835 — approximately R$ 9,735 in direct conversion, while the cheapest iPhone in the world is around R$ 5,830.

Turkey Leads The Ranking With Even Higher iPhone Prices

At the top of the list is Turkey, where the same device costs US$ 2,182 (around R$ 11,575).

At the other end, countries like South Korea, Japan, and the United States sell the same iPhone for about US$ 1,100 (or R$ 5,830), less than half the Turkish price and nearly R$ 4,000 less than in Brazil.

Tax Burden Explains Part Of The Problem, But It’s Not Everything

Although Brazil has Apple assembly lines in operation, this does not guarantee lower prices. Most Pro and Pro Max models still arrive by import.

The combined tax burden — between federal and state taxes — can exceed 40%.

But there are other factors involved. In an interview with CanalTech, Ana Paula Tozzi, CEO of AGR Consultores, states that the industrial scenario in the country is still limited.

“Despite incentives, production in Brazil is still concentrated on assembly, not the complete manufacturing of electronics,” she says.

According to her, the lack of local technology and high costs hinder any progress in price reduction.

Even With The Dollar Falling, Apple Prices Remain High

In 2025, the exchange rate became more favorable for imports. However, Apple did not follow this trend with price reductions.

Unlike competitors like Samsung and Motorola, who tend to adjust their prices, the company from Cupertino maintains a strict pricing policy, regardless of the economic situation.

This contributes to the price of the iPhone in Brazil remaining among the highest in the world, even when there are conditions for a reduction.

The combination of taxes, operational costs, and market strategy results in prices that hardly reflect the reality of other countries.
