In the past five years, the cost of electricity in Brazil increased by 47%. This significant increase contributed to the country rising in the world ranking, and currently, Brazil is the 2nd country with the most expensive cost of electricity in the world, just behind Colombia.
This is what reveals a study released by Abrace (Association of Large Industrial Energy Consumers and Free Consumers) on the cost of energy in the country.
After Colombia and Brazil, Turkey, Chile and Portugal respectively remain at the top of the ranking among countries that charge more for energy.

On the opposite side, among the 5 countries with the cheapest electricity bills are: Norway, Luxembourg, United States, Canada and Switzerland, respectively.
After all, why is the electricity bill so expensive in Brazil?
