The BYD Seal, the cheapest electric sedan on the market, will arrive in Brazil soon and promises to rival major names like Civic, Corolla Hybrid, and even Tesla Model 3.
The competition among manufacturers from China will become even more intense soon, with the arrival of the BYD Seal in the market. The company will officially reveal the affordable electric sedan later this month during the Interlagos Festival in São Paulo. The electric car from the Chinese manufacturer will join the Dolphin, which continues to compete in the ranking of the cheapest battery-powered car in Brazil.

The BYD Seal is developed on the same platform as the Dolphin. Its dimensions are 4.80 meters in length, 1.46 meters in height, 1.87 meters in width, and a wheelbase of 2.92 meters. The version selected for the Brazilian market comes equipped with two electric motors, one on each axle.

While much of the industry rushes to automate production, Rolls-Royce takes over 600 hours to hand-build each car in Goodwood and still accepts orders so complex that they can take up to four years to be completed.

Smaller than the Model Y, lighter, with a single motor and designed to cost less than the current Model 3, Tesla’s new compact electric SUV is born in China and could seal the automaker’s return to the race for mass-market electric vehicles.

Kawasaki took the technology from its most brutal racing bikes, squeezed it into a 400cc 4-cylinder engine that revs to 15,000 RPM, and created the ZX-4R, a machine that shouldn’t exist in this displacement but is making experienced riders rethink everything they thought they knew about mid-range motorcycles.

The culture of cars that jump on the asphalt was born in the garages of Mexicans in the 1940s, was treated as a crime in the United States for decades, and has now become an official postage stamp of the American Postal Service in a twist that no one expected.
The estimated range provided by the Chinese manufacturer is 650 km, a number that will certainly change according to Brazil’s new measuring standards.
At the rear, the horizontal taillights extend to the trunk lid. Inside, there are two screens, one being a 10.25-inch instrument cluster and the other a larger 15.6-inch multimedia display.
New Electric Sedan from BYD Expected to Cost R$ 260 Thousand
The Chinese manufacturer plans to launch the BYD Seal with a more aggressive price in Brazil. The expectation is that the model will arrive as the cheapest electric car in its category, costing around R$ 260 thousand.
The electric car will represent the brand in the mid-sized sedan segment, directly competing with heavy rivals like the Toyota Corolla and Honda Civic, both of which have electrified versions in the country. Initially, the manufacturer entered the Brazilian market with more expensive premium segment vehicles.
Gradually, the brand has expanded its offerings, now including more affordable vehicles. The Dolphin, for instance, is sold by the company for only R$ 149,800.
The idea behind presenting the affordable electric sedan is to maintain the prominence of the more budget-friendly sector, as GWM prepares to launch the GWM Ora, which will also be showcased at the Interlagos Festival.
BYD Confirms Its Complete Lineup at the Festival
Inside the new electric car from BYD, there is plenty of luxury and comfort for those on board. High-quality delivery at a lower cost is guaranteed. It’s good, but not as good as the BYD Han, which is of course more expensive. However, the Seal features a rotating screen, which is the manufacturer’s trademark, screens in the second row of seats, a multimedia steering wheel, digital cluster, among other amenities.
The electric sedan does not exaggerate in lines and curves, boasting a well-constructed visual. Flush door handles, sharp headlights, and integrated taillights offer a touch of modernity with sophistication.
For this edition of the Festival, the manufacturer confirmed the presence of its complete lineup, including the Dolphin, Song Plus, Yuan Plus, Tan, and Han. With the exception of the Song Plus, the rest of BYD’s models are fully electric. It’s worth noting that the Chinese manufacturer already has production plans in Brazil and will bring the BYD Seagull, its cheapest vehicle.
