To have a decarbonized and sustainable economy, preserving the environment makes money and creates many green jobs
The need to face climate change, the overexploitation of natural resources and the pollution of ecosystems makes the transition to a green economy urgent. Therefore, green jobs are needed to stop all climate change, and to protect and promote the environment or those who always take into account its impact on the health of the planet and try to minimize it.

What are green jobs?
Green jobs are related to formal jobs, in economic activities that contribute to the reduction of carbon emissions that improve/conserve environmental quality, aiming at reducing environmental impacts and protecting biodiversity, in order to avoid forms of waste and pollution in towards sustainability.
What are the types of green jobs?
They can be in the transport sector, civil construction, retail, agriculture, direct preservation, manufacturing, energy sector and recycling.
How many jobs can be created with the new Sustainable Economy?
The UN - United Nations Organizations, predicts the creation of 18 million jobs. Brazil would have around 7,1 million. Countries in Latin America and the Caribbean would have around 15 million.
Why are green jobs important?
The UN has estimated that 1,2 billion jobs in the world depend on direct resources from nature (such as fishing, mining, etc.). The organization even predicts that 72 million jobs will be lost worldwide due to climate change worldwide. That's why these opportunities are also a way out to avoid the changes caused by the climate crisis.
What is the origin of the term “green job”?
The term was developed by the International Labor Organization (ILO) and the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP). Both agencies are part of the UN (United Nations). It was created in 2009 with the study “Green Jobs: decent work in a sustainable world with low carbon emissions”.
