The return of the Hummer, now in its electric version, had already been confirmed by General Motors. In fact, the pickup version had already been acknowledged, however, it turns out that the SUV body is the most iconic, as it directly refers to the H1 and H2 models, which are the classics of the former Hummer division.

The Hummer, one of the company’s electric cars, is powered by three propulsion electric units. Together, they develop 840 hp of power and allow the utility to go from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds. To assist with maneuvers, the SUV has four-wheel steering. There are also self-driving assistance and even its own energy generator, which can recharge electronics and even other electric cars.

New Pickup In Partnership With General Motors

The Chevrolet pickup, in partnership with General Motors, will also be part of the company’s line of electric cars. According to the brand’s announcement, it will use a new platform specifically designed for the company’s electric vehicles.

Chevrolet guarantees that it will have a range of over 640 km when it hits the market with its final version. Silverado and Hummer EV SUV will be manufactured at GM’s Detroit-Hamtramck plant. Renamed Factory Zero, where US$ 2.2 billion were invested for construction. The expectation is that it will become one of the pillars of General Motors’ electrification strategy.

The pickup is expected to begin production in 2022, but it will only be available on the market in early 2023 and will be sold as a 2024 model.

Electric Car Market In Brazil

The electric car market in Brazil is still very new and is progressing slowly, as the great majority of Brazilians still have some hesitation about acquiring electric cars, even knowing that by 2030 a good portion of combustion-powered cars will be banned.

The electrification of the automotive industry is not a matter of luxury, but rather a necessity for preserving oxygen for future generations, as eliminating a significant number of combustion-powered cars will gradually reduce CO2 levels in the atmosphere.

In the state of São Paulo, for example, the state government has approved the circulation of at least 200 electric cars initially under the electrification program to encourage the use of electric cars, the government has also exempted the IPVA and required all new buildings to include charging points in their parking lots.
