The inauguration ceremony of the new Airport in the state of Paraná, which counted on investment from Itaipu, had the presence of several important authorities such as Carlos Massa Ratinho Junior; the president of Infraero, Lieutenant Brigadier Hélio Paes de Barros Júnior; Jair Bolsonaro and many others.

The Works of the New Airport and the Crucial Investment by Itaipu
After investments from Itaipu, the airport was expanded by over 600 meters in length; previously, it had 2,195 meters and after construction, it now measures 2,795 meters. Thanks to Itaipu, the airport in the Paraná region has become the largest in the South of the country.
More than 17,000 trucks participated in the undertaking to build and restructure the new airport, now there is the possibility of flights to Central America and the United States in the region.
Another highlight that must be mentioned is the new partnership established in October 2020 between Infraero and Itaipu for the duplication of the access road to the airport, implementing a bike lane to enhance safety, an investment that cost R$ 6.14 million.
Itaipu Is Already Eyeing the Market for 2023
ITAIPU aims to establish itself as a top-tier organization, with maximum management efficiency and highly professionalized in energy production, within the context of 2023.
To achieve this historical organizational goal, the Executive Board of the Binational Entity decided to request bids from a specialized company, internationally recognized, which will be selected from among the best in the world.
The proposals to be presented by this company must contemplate the fulfillment of the commitment established for the year 2023, to have an organization that generates clean and renewable energies, responding more adequately to the challenges of operating in an increasingly competitive market, with human resources committed to excellence in their management processes, highly professionalized; in addition to maximum operational performance, efficient and sustainable.
Moreover, incorporating the highest standards of quality, safety, environmental care, management, and transparency in administration; and with benefits for both countries, including the supply of reliable electricity for the interconnected systems in Paraguay and Brazil, as well as sustainable development and regional integration.
The contracted company must not express opinions regarding issues related to the revision of the ITAIPU Treaty-Annex C, which corresponds to the High Contracting Parties.
